I recieved this in an email today. As I read it, I could not help thinking that this is a phenominal way to show just how fabulous the Mustangs are. I know that these horses competeing are not Kigers, but gosh, this could really go a long way in proving the worth of this hearty breed horse. In my opinion, I feel that this is the best way to get our Kigers out there. A "put up or shut up" attitude can sometimes be the best way to silence the "anti Mustang" people. Like they always say, "the proof is in the pudding" If only we could have more events like this, we would have a much better chance of being taken seriously rather than labeled as "those Mustangs" or "pretty pasture orniments."

I just recieved this final notice from the Extreme Mustang Makeover.
If any one is planning to participate, this is your last chance. I wish I
could be there to watch the activities. It is going to be a wonderful
event which I hope to see every year.

Just wondering if anyone attended the "Smackdown"

OAPN,  my horse project this year is not a Kiger, but he is a mustang. He just came back from the "saddler" two weeks ago. The guy who rode him told me beforehand that he had never broke a mustang before and was looking forward to the challenge. After the fact he said the horse was no challenge at all, never even bucked once. Kinda spoiled  the guys' fun, I think.
Of course, this is Jessi's horse, Chief, and he had an awfully lot of ground work in advance.  Hate to admit it but the other "family project" isn't a Kiger either....Hunter's got a ropin horse in trainin'.  he's actually getting pretty good at that team ropin' business!

Here are the results of the Smackdown, I'll go look on YouTube to see if anyone has posted video.  Sounds like it was fun!
